The present invention relates to a display device. The display device comprises: a backlight unit including at least one optical assembly divided into a plurality of blocks and driven by block; a display panel arranged above the backlight unit; a controller for outputting a local dimming value by block, corresponding to the brightness of each block of the backlight unit, according to an image displayed on the display panel; and a BLU driver for controlling the brightness of the blocks of the backlight unit, using the local dimming values by block, wherein the optical assembly includes a first layer, a plurality of light sources formed on the first layer to emit light, a second layer formed above the first layer to enclose the plurality of light sources, and a reflective layer arranged between the first and second layers, the BLU driver receives the local dimming values by block and outputs a plurality of drive signals, and the plurality of drive signals controls the brightness of two or more blocks from among each of the blocks of the backlight unit.
