PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comparatively easily-producible resin composition having high strength and exhibiting play of color over the wide wavelength range from purple to red, a method of producing the resin composition, and building materials and decorative products formed by using the resin composition.

SOLUTION: The resin composition 10 has a colloidal crystal of colloidal particles 2 consisting of silicon oxide, which is fixed in an acrylamide resin 13 produced by curing acrylamide monomers and/or oligomers. The method of producing the resin composition, and building materials and decorative products formed by using the resin composition are also provided.
