<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary monitoring radar system which is capable of ensuring detection of a target object flying actually, even under the effect of multipath. <P>SOLUTION: In a control device 16, first, target position information obtained by scanning a monitoring area covered by a radar ground station with an all call is stored together with an address in a memory 17. After execution of scanning by the all call, an SLO scan is executed in all directions (azimuthal directions) of the monitoring area covered by the radar ground station, and determination is made as to whether an address of a target returning an response signal in the SLO scan agrees with the address of the target registered in the memory 17 and shifted to a roll call and as to whether there is a difference of a prescribed value or above in a target position.
