PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a printer, which is inexpensive and poor in memory resources, to store useful communication log information effective for investigating the cause of occurrence of any failure associated with wireless communication without consuming memory resources wherever possible. SOLUTION: Communication logs in communication success and communication failure limited to communication with an access point are held and when an external storage device is mounted, the communication logs are automatically transferred to the external storage device. Furthermore, in the case where an external storage device is mounted beforehand, all communication logs generated during the mounting are recorded in the external storage device.
