PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure and a method for reinforcing an existing building capable of being applied even to the case that a new structure is not provided at the outer periphery of the existing building and the ground below the existing building is a weak stratum, and the case that a pile of a foundation structure has not sufficient strength. SOLUTION: The method for reinforcing the existing building 1 includes an anchor driving step of driving an anchor 20 so that its one end can be anchored to the anchor fixing ground 4, and an anchor installation step of anchoring the other end of the anchor 20 to the structure 2 of the existing building 1.
