<p>An igniter for a mercury-free discharge lamp lighting device is provided with a high-voltage terminal housing portion of a socket section which is formed at one end of a bobbin in order to fit a mercury-free discharge lamp therein, and a core housing portion which is disposed on the same axis as the high-voltage terminal housing portion and has a larger diameter than the high-voltage terminal housing portion in order to house a core. The igniter has a configuration in which a high-voltage terminal and the core are inserted into the core housing portion from the direction opposite to the socket section, whereby the workability of assembly of the high-voltage terminal and the core into the bobbin can be greatly improved.</p> |
