PURPOSE: A safety-enhanced electric iron is provided to turn off a handle switch and body switch when a user leaves an electric iron alone. CONSTITUTION: When electric energy is applied, a heat generating unit(11) is heated up. A power unit(14) applies electric energy to the heat generating unit. An iron body(10) receives the heat generating unit and the power unit. If the iron body stands up, a body switch(22) is turned on. If the iron body is laid down, the body switch is turned off. If a user holds a handle of the iron with his/her hand, a handle switch is turned on. If the hand is not held by the hand, the hand switch is turned off. |
