LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition which is improved in inhibition and/or reduction of corrosion of a metallic engine component and includes low-level phosphorus and low-level sulfur and/or sulfated ash for improving corrosion preventing characteristics. SOLUTION: A crankcase lubricating oil composition includes: (A) a major amount of an oil with lubricating viscosity; (B) a minor amount of an oil-soluble metal salt of a dithiophosphoric acid as an additive component; and (C) a minor amount of an oil-soluble carbodiimide compound as an additive component. The lubricating oil composition is contaminated with at least 0.3 mass%, based on the total mass of the lubricating oil composition, of a biofuel or its decomposition products and a mixture of them.
