PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate nanobubble water useful for a living body hygienically, efficiently and easily. SOLUTION: A mounting portion 2b on which a container C for storing water to be treated is mounted is provided on a casing 2 of a functional water generator 1. An electromagnet 8 which generates a horizontal rotating magnetic field for magnetizing the water to be treated of the container C on the mounting portion 2b is provided in the casing 2. An electrostatically charged plate 9 is provided just under the mounting portion 2b. Information on rotating magnetic fields corresponding to effects useful for a living body is recorded in a memory card 6, and the electromagnet 8 is driven according to the information. An LED 10 which emits blue light for generating nanobubbles is provided in the mounting portion 2b. The rotating magnetic field of the electromagnet 8 can promote the generation of the nanobubbles by the LED 10 to efficiently generate nanobubble water having particular useful effects for a living body and a sterilizing effect.
