SCR catalysts comprising iron-containing zeolite beta exhibit high NOx reducing performance at high temperatures in the presence of a reducing agent, but have not exhibited sufficient reducing performance at low temperatures (at or below 200°C). A high NOx reduction rate of at least 45% at a temperature no greater than 200°C is achieved by an SCR catalyst that contains iron-containing zeolite beta, has a full-width half-maximum (FWHM) X-ray crystal diffraction (302) surface between 0.28° and 0.34°, and decreases in weight by 15.0% to 18.0% upon heating to 900°C after hydration treatment. Said SCR catalyst can be manufactured by calcining iron-containing zeolite beta at a temperature between 700°C and 850°C in an atmosphere having a water vapor concentration of no more than 5% by volume. |
