<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aquaporin production promoter which is a substance promoting the production of aquaporin high in safety and free from side effects, even when continuously taken, and is used for preventing or treating hemorrhage accompanied by dry mouth, dry eyes, or nasal dryness, itching feeling due to skin dryness, coughing and phlegm due to respiratory tract dryness, pulmonary edema, cerebral edema, cataract, hyposalivation, metabolic syndrome, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, xeroderma, and keratodermas, and to provide an external preparation for skin, a drink, a food, a medicine, and a feed, which each contains the same. <P>SOLUTION: This aquaporin production promoter is characterized by including cryptoxanthin and/or a derivative thereof, wherein the cryptoxanthin and/or a derivative thereof is preferably originated from citrus fruits. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
