PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of uniformly irradiating the surface of an image carrier with discharging light. SOLUTION: A light guide member 50 has: a first light guide plate 51 which guides discharging light at the central portion of a photosensitive drum 121 in the axial direction; and second light guide plates 52 which guide the discharging light respectively at both end portions of the photosensitive drum 121 in the axial direction. A plurality of LEDs 30 include an end-excluding LEDs 31 for making light incident on the first guide plate 51, and endmost LEDs 32 for making light incident on the second guide plate 52. The second light guide plate 52 has a restrictive means which allows discharging light from the end-excluding LEDs 31, made incident on the first guide plate 51, from travelling into the second light guide plate 52, but restricts discharging light from the endmost LEDs 32, made incident on the second guide plate 52, from traveling into the first light guide plate 51.
