PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal motor with improved usage of a wire material of a winding. SOLUTION: The universal motor has a rotor and a stator. The stator includes a pair of symmetrical C-shaped stator cores and two windings respectively wound around each of the pair of stator cores. Each stator core has a yoke and a pair of poles extending from both ends of the yoke. The yoke is wound with a winding.
