摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new monomer having a 1,3,4-thiadiazole group for obtaining a new hydroxyl group-having polymer, and to provide the new hydroxyl group-having polymer which is obtained by polymerizing the monomer, is soluble in polar solvents such as water and alcohols, and exhibits high adhesiveness between the polymer as a coating material and substrates. SOLUTION: There are the thiadiazole derivative represented by general formula I [wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is H or methyl; the bonding group L<SB>1</SB>is one selected from -C(=O)O-, -CONH-, -OC(=O)-, -O-, and -CH(-)-, -CH(OH)- and -CH<SB>2</SB>- groups, or a group consisting of an arbitrary combination of the groups; R<SB>2</SB>is H or alkyl; R<SB>2</SB>and L<SB>1</SB>may be bound to each other to form a ring; A<SP>+</SP>is protonated ammonia, an organic amine compound, or a quaternary ammonium salt group], and the polymer obtained by polymerizing the monomer.
