PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a run flat tire capable of enhancing the run flat durability performance while maintaining the ride quality during a normal run. SOLUTION: The run flat tire includes a carcass 4 constituted of one or more carcass plies having a bead part 1, a side wall part 2 and a tread part 3, and extending toroidally between a pair of bead parts 6 to reinforce each part thereof, a belt layer 8 and belt reinforcing layers 9A, 9B which are successively arranged outside in the tire radial direction of a crown part, and a side reinforcing rubber layer 5 having a crescent section arranged inside the carcass in the side wall part. Reinforcing cords of the belt reinforcing layer are formed of aliphatic polyamide fibers. The heat shrinkage stress σ at 150°C of the reinforcing cord drawn out of the tire satisfies σ>0.21, the modulus E of elasticity at 0.3% strain at 150°C satisfies E>23.5, and the modulus E' of elasticity at 3% strain at 50°C satisfies E'<30.
