The disk (10) has a heating device subjected with electric energy for removing ice, snow and/or mist from a surface. An interrupting device interrupts the heating device from being subjected with the electric energy when the heating device reaches a pre-determined temperature. The interrupting device comprises a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) element (14) with nonlinear temperature resistance characteristics, where the PTC element is designed as a ceramic PTC element and/or a polymeric PTC element. A transparent base body (12) of the disk is made of plastic. An independent claim is also included for a method for heating a disk of a motor vehicle.
