<p>Provided is a display element for an electronic paper having high color reflectance, excellent color reproducibility, and good resistance to repeated rewriting. Specifically provided is an electrochromic display element comprising, on one substrate, electrodes provided in a predetermined pattern and an electrochromic layer, the display element being characterized in that the electrodes are pixel electrodes that are configured from electrode pairs each disposed at positions facing each other on the same plane and forming one pixel, and the electrochromic layer is colored or decolored by producing a potential difference between a pair of electrodes.</p> |
