<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device in which generation of a vibration sound and foreign matters due to contact of a diffuser plate and a cabinet is suppressed, and free expansion and contraction of the diffuser plate is achieved. <P>SOLUTION: In the backlight device including at least: the square cabinet having the bottom part and four side walls; a light source arranged on the bottom part of the cabinet; the diffuser plate supported on the side wall upper face of the cabinet; and an optical sheet arranged on the diffuser plate, an opposing pair of the side wall upper faces of the cabinet have a gradient gradually decreasing in height toward inside, and a side face of the diffuser plate corresponding to the opposing pair of side walls has an inclination in parallel with the side wall upper face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
