PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved frequency converter that reduces local oscillator leakage power leaking via an amplifier not in operation. SOLUTION: The frequency converter includes an amplification part, an oscillator, a mixer, and a power supply control circuit. The amplification part has a plurality of amplifiers and a plurality of diodes, and receives a signal selectively by switching between operation and non-operation for each of the amplifiers to amplify the received signal. The oscillator generates an oscillation signal. The mixer mixes the oscillation signal with the amplified received signal. The power supply control circuit controls supply of a bias current to each of the amplifiers. Each of the diodes is inserted on a path in the forward direction with respect to a direction to which the bias current flows.
