PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver monitoring device for accurately determining whether a person closes his or her eyes. SOLUTION: The driver monitoring device is provided with: a light intensity detection means for detecting the light intensity of a light wave emitted to the driver of a vehicle; a face image acquisition means for capturing a face image of the driver of the vehicle; an eye opening degree calculation means for calculating eye opening degree showing the degree of opening of the eyelids of the driver on the basis of the face image; an eye closing state determination means for determining the opening/closing states of the eyelids of the driver; and a nap determination means for determining whether or not the driver is taking a nap on the basis of the determination result of the eye closing state determination means. The eye closing state determination means includes at least one of an eye closing determination means for correcting an eye closing determination threshold for determining whether the eyes of the driver are closed or not, and for determining whether the eyes of the driver are closed or not on the basis of the eye opening degree and the eye closing determination threshold; and an eye closing accuracy calculation means for calculating eye closing accuracy showing the possibility that the eyes of the driver are closed on the basis of the eye opening degree and the light intensity.
