PURPOSE: A transfer device and a lathe using the same are provided to reduce the time for transfer work and the fatigue of workers by rapidly completing a transfer even in a long transfer distance. CONSTITUTION: A transfer device comprises a transfer shaft(10), a movable member(20), a pair of chucks(30,30'), a slider(40), a compression spring(50), and a pair of chuck rotating pieces(60,60'). A screw part(11) is formed on the exterior of the transfer shaft, and the movable member is linearly moved along the transfer shaft. The chucks clamp or unclamp the screw part of the transfer shaft. The slider is slid along the movable member. The compression spring has a returning force when slid with the pressing of the slider. The chuck rotating pieces rotate the chucks in the sliding of the slider.
