PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable size reduction and efficiency improvement in a rotating electrical machine, at low cost. SOLUTION: An armature for rotating electrical machines includes a substantially cylindrical core 11, having multiple slots 12 dispersedly arranged in the circumferential direction, coils 21 in multiple phases wound in the slots 12; and a connecting conductor 41, that connects together the ends of the coils 21 in the multiple phases so that they are star-connected. The coil 21 in each phase has two component coils connected in parallel. Neutral ends 24, i.e., the ends of each two component coils on the neutral point side, are arranged along the direction of the radius of the core. With respect to each phase, the two neutral ends 24 arranged along the direction of the radius of the core are respectively connected to the connecting conductor 41 so that the connecting conductor 41 is sandwiched between both sides in the direction of the radius of the core.
