PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate that uses various dichroic dyes, and has high durability, especially high wetting resistance. SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing the polarizing plate includes a step of extending a resin sheet and a step of coloring the extended resin sheet with a dichroic dye. The extending step uses uniaxial extension, and the coloring step uses a method of soaking resin in dispersion liquid of the dichroic dye and a rotating type high voltage dyeing machine. The dichroic dye is azo-based dye. Various resins such as polyester (for example, polyethylene terephthalate (PET)) or polyolefin (for example, norbornene resin) are used for manufacturing. A polarizing film cannot be used conventionally in a high humidity condition because water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is used, but the polarizing plate can be used even in a high humidity environment.
