PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding method for an airbag allowing its left half side airbag and its right half side airbag to be early deployed in a wide range in the vertical direction and the right and left directions, respectively. SOLUTION: When folding down the airbag 10, thicknesses in the substantially forward and backward direction of the right half side airbag 11 and the left half side airbag 12 is first reduced, and a right side face of the right half side airbag 11 and a left side face of the left half side airbag 12 are folded down to separate them from each other in the right and left direction at least partially and form the airbag 10 into a primary folded-down body 10A flatly extended in substantially vertical direction and right and left direction. Then, the primary folded-down body 10A is folded down to reduce widths in substantially vertical direction and right and left directions to form a final folded-down body 10C.
