Plastic insulated cable sealing - by foamable cpd compensating vaseline contraction

To make cables in plastic insulation around the conductors, in which the gaps are filled with vaseline, watertight in the longitudinal direction, a cpd. e.g. a PVC-paste contg. a driving gas or chemical such as a foamable elastomer, is applied during the wrapping of the cable sheath which compensates any contraction of the vaseline by its gelation and swelling property when exposed to heat.
