<p>A luminiferous substance for thermoluminescent dosimetry, based on LiF with the addition of Ca, also contains up to 0.8 (0.015-0.3) wt % Mn. There may be 0.5-3% Ca. Characteristics are (1) the practical exposure dose limits are 10-3 to 105 roentgen, (2) the thermodisexcitation curve presents one or two high temp. bands, the position of the principle band being between 200 and 300 degrees C. (3) the 'fading' does not exceed 10% 2 months after irradiation. (4) the relative sensitivity for 40 keV gamma-radiation is about 2. (5) the radiation spectrum of the product is practically independent of temp. and hasmax near 500 nm.</p> |
