PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tempered and nitrocarburized component having superior bend correction properties and high fatigue strength. SOLUTION: The tempered and nitrocarburized component is made from a base steel material including, by mass%, 0.25-0.40% C, 0.10-0.35% Si, 0.60-1.0% Mn, 0.08% or less P, 0.10% or less S, 0.05% or less Al, 0.30-1.10% Cr, 0.0030-0.0250% N and the balance Fe with impurities; has a Vickers hardness of 400-600 at a position of 0.05 mm from the surface; and has a compound layer with a depth of 5μm or less at the stress concentration part. The tempered and nitrocarburized component may include one or more elements out of Cu≤1.0%, Mo≤0.3%, V≤0.3%, Ni≤0.5%, Ti≤0.020% and Ca≤0.010% in place of a part of Fe. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
