PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition device for preventing an object recognition failure when a low-resolution image and a high-resolution image are acquired at different time. SOLUTION: The image recognition device is provided with: an object detection part for detecting a region where an object is located, based on image data generated at first resolution by an image pickup element; a memory for, when the region where the object is located is detected by the object detection part, storing image data generated at the first resolution by the image pickup element; and an object recognition part for inputting the image data of the region where the object detected by the object detection part is located, the image data being generated at second resolution by the image pickup element, and for recognizing the object. When determining that the object recognition by the recognition processing fails, the object recognition processing part inputs the image data of the region where the object is located, the image data being generated at first resolution and stored in the memory, and recognizes the object.
