An electronic device includes alight emitting unit that provides backlight to a liquid crystal display unit, a communication unit that transmits video data, and a control unit that controls a current flowing from a DC-DC convertor to the light emitting unit. The control unit controls the current flowing from the DC-DC convertor to the light emitting unit so as to change an output voltage of the DC-DC convertor from a first voltage to a second voltage which is lower than the first voltage. The first voltage is supplied to the light emitting unit and the second voltage is supplied to the communication unit.
