<p>A time synchronization method and system in a passive optical network are provided. The method includes that: an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) transmits a first time tn and an OLT Multi-Point Control Protocol (MPCP) counter value sn corresponding to the first time tn to an Optical Network Unit (ONU); after receiving the tn and sn, in conjunction with the ranging information, the ONU calculates a corresponding second time t'n according to a determined ONU MPCP counter value s'n, or the ONU calculates a corresponding ONU MPCP counter value s'n according to a determined second time t'n, and updates the local time. Applying the scheme of the present invention, the time of the synchronization setting can be flexibly selected without real time requirements, the processing flow is simple, and the occupation of the bandwidth is reduced.</p> |
