The arrangement has sheet metal parts (1, 2) connected by an adhesive joint (6) at oppositely arranged sheet metal part surfaces (5). A deformation (4) is formed as an adhesive retainer at one of the sheet metal parts, where adhesive is attached into the adhesive retainer. An open edge (3) of the other sheet metal part is arranged towards a surface of the deformation of the former sheet metal part that is coated with the adhesive such that the open edge is enclosed by the adhesive. The sheet metal parts are made of a tailored blank steel.
