An electric appliance box (10) and an air conditioner are provided. Two mainboard slots (31, 41) are respectively provided in the opposite lateral surfaces of the electric appliance box. An error-proofing boss (32, 42) adjacent to the mainboard slots is provided in at least one of the lateral surfaces. The air conditioner contains the electric appliance box. With the error-proofing boss, a mainboard is avoided from being easily inserted at a wrong position and a batch quality accident is avoided during production, if there is another distance for placing the mainboard (20) between the two lateral surfaces of the electric appliance box adjacent to the mainboard slots, so that the electric appliance device box and the air conditioner have high safety and reliability effects.
