<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which emits light having a relatively broad emission spectrum and an amber color with less color shift. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes a light emitting element 10 emitting light from ultraviolet light to blue light, a first phosphor excited by the light emitted from the light emitting element to emit first light of a wavelength region longer than a wavelength of the excitation light, and a second phosphor composed of a nitride phosphor, which is excited by the light emitted from the light emitting element to emit second light of a wavelength region longer than that of the first light, and has an emission color resulting from mixture of the first light and the second light.
