PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image having high glossiness without depending on printing density. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor on the surface of which a toner image is formed; a primary transfer roller which is arranged at a position opposed to the photoreceptor and makes transfer current flow between the photoreceptor and the primary transfer roller; and an intermediate transfer belt which is arranged at a position between the photoreceptor and the primary transfer roller and to which the toner image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor is transferred by the current flowing between the primary transfer roller and the photoreceptor. The image forming apparatus includes the photoreceptors and the primary transfer rollers for yellow toner, magenta toner, cyan toner, black toner, and transparent toner, and an electric resistance value of the primary transfer roller for the transparent toner is larger than an electric resistance value of the primary transfer roller for the color toner other than the transparent toner.
