The appliance has a processor (405) for stimulating a sensor unit (406) with predetermined carrier frequency. The processor is partially capacitively coupled with the sensor unit, where information of the sensor unit in a frequency region is evaluated by the processor. An insertion position e.g. insertion height of a cooking accessory e.g. cooking pot (401), is fixable in the appliance based on the information. The cooking accessory is electrically or capacitively coupled with a contact sensor. The sensor unit is capacitively coupled with the cooking accessory. The cooking accessory is selected from one of cooking dish, baking tray, grill, skewer and rotatable skewer. An independent claim is also included for a method for evaluating information in a household appliance.
