Disclosed is a solid-state image capturing device provided with a pixel array (101) which has a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, a row scanning circuit (102) which performs row scanning for selecting rows in sequence, a column ADC circuit (13) which simultaneously converts analog pixel signals outputted from a plurality of pixels belonging to a row selected by the row scanning circuit (102) into digital pixel data, a column digital memory (14) which stores pixel data corresponding to one row subjected to AD conversion, and a one-line compression circuit (15) which sequentially compresses and codes pixel data outputted from the column digital memory (14), wherein when compressing and coding pixel data, the one-line compression circuit (15) refers to pixel data belonging to the same row as the pixel data to be compressed and coded, and does not refer to pixel data belonging to different rows.
