PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a photographing person from recognizing an image blurring or change of the blur during reciprocation in an image capturing apparatus having a function of reciprocating a focus position of a photographing lens relative to an imaging element at a predetermined amplitude. SOLUTION: This image capturing apparatus includes: driving means (114 and 150) for reciprocating the focus position of the photographing lens relative to the imaging element at the predetermined amplitude by changing, in an optical axis direction, a distance between the photographing lens (137) and the imaging element (107); a detection means (121) for detecting a focus state of an image obtained from the imaging element; and a blur correcting means (121) for performing blur correction on the image obtained from the imaging element during the reciprocation performed by the driving means, based on the focus state detected by the detecting means, so that the focus state at least approaches the focus state when an image is photographed at a focusing position.
