PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermostatic type piezoelectric oscillator that achieves a low profile of a body case of the thermostatic chamber type piezoelectric oscillator and a low manufacturing cost thereof. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric vibrator 2, an oscillation portion 31 comprising an oscillation circuit 3 with the piezoelectric vibrator 2 as an oscillator, and a thermostatic chamber 5 keeping the piezoelectric vibrator 2 at a predetermined temperature are disposed in the thermostatic type piezoelectric oscillator 1. The piezoelectric vibrator 2 and oscillation portion 31 are disposed on one main surface 60 of a substrate 6. Also, a thermostatic portion 51 for keeping the piezoelectric vibrator 2 at a predetermined temperature is disposed in the substrate 6, and a metal case 52 for sealing the piezoelectric vibrator 2 and oscillation portion 31 is disposed on the main surface 60 of the substrate 6.
