PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic sorting apparatus, an automatic sorting method and a method of manufacturing materials for exactly deciding the content level of a specific element included in a sorting object and capable of exactly sorting the sorting object in accordance with the content level of the specific element. SOLUTION: The automatic sorting apparatus includes: a conveyance part 2 for conveying the powdery or particulate sorting object 1; a sampling part 3 for picking a part 1a of the sorting object 1 of the conveyance part 2; a pretreatment chamber 4 to which the part 1a of the sorting object 1 is transferred; a sample chamber 5 to which the part 1a of the sorting object 1 is transferred from the pretreatment chamber 4; a fluorescent X-ray measurement part 6 which is arranged proximately to the part 1a of the sorting object 1 in close contact to the sample chamber 5 and, thereby, irradiates the part 1a of the sorting object 1 with X-rays to measure fluorescent X-rays; a decision part 8 for deciding the content level of the specific element of the part 1a of the sorting object 1 from the measurement result of the fluorescent X-ray measurement part 6; and a screening part 10 for screening a remaining part 1b and the part 1a of the sorting object 1 of the conveyance part 2 in accordance with the decision result of the decision part 8.
