PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tablet forming machine capable of achieving both tablet discharging function and powder loading function by simple manual operation. SOLUTION: The tablet forming machine 1 includes: a mortar 22 mounted on a table 23; a powder feeder 25 which slides on the upper surface of the table 23; and upper and lower mallets 6 and 26 for compressing the powder loaded in the mortar 22 to form tablets. The tablet forming machine 1 also has a discharging/loading mechanism 35 having a tablet discharging function for discharging tablets from the upper opening of the mortar 22 by raising the lower mallet 26 and a powder loading function for dropping and loading the powder in the mortar 22 by lowering the lower mallet 26 with the powder feeder 25 located above the mortar 22, and a discharging/loading handle 36 connected to the discharging/loading mechanism 35 for activating the discharging/loading mechanism 35 by switching the tablet discharging function and power loading function by the switching operation.
