<p>An evaporator and a refrigeration device employing the evaporator are disclosed. The evaporator comprises fins (30), side plates (20) and multiple U-shaped pipes (10). The fins (30) have multiple first holes (301). The side plates (20) cling to the fins (30) and have multiple second holes (205) corresponding to at least a portion of the multiple first holes (301). The second holes (205) have flanged parts (201) back against the fins (30), and the flanged parts (201) have round angle structures at the openings back against the fins (30). The U-shaped pipes (10) pass through the multiple first holes (301) and second holes (205). Since there is no distance between the side plates (20) and the fins (30), better effect of heat exchange is achieved.</p>
