TEXT INPUT METHOD BY A TOUCH POINTING DEVICE WITH A BOTTOM SWITCH

PURPOSE: A text input method by a touch pointing device with a bottom switch is provided to enable a user to input a character with one hand even when using a touch pad or a touch screen pointing device. CONSTITUTION: When a touch input state is detected(1802), a first character of a virtual key on a virtual keyboard corresponding to the touched region of a 2D pointing device is designated. If the pressing state is detected, the second character of the virtual key is designated and the designated character is inputted. If only two characters are designated on each virtual key of the virtual keyboard, the standard character which is the representative character in the two characters is inputted while a finger is separated from the pointing device after touching the pointing device.
