The method involves passing extruded hollow profiles (1) from an extrusion press (4) in an area of an outlet (2) through an electromagnetic deformation device (3). The extruded hollow profiles are locally deformed by magnetic field strength of the device. An electromagnetic deformation (6) of the extruded hollow profiles takes place at a certain temperature after the extruded hollow profiles are obtained from the extrusion press. Hardenable aluminum forgeable alloys are treated for adjustment a defined microstructure or coldly difficulty transformable magnesium alloys, copper, brass or alloys. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing profiles.
