Slits (36) are formed in wall sections (28) of a clip (16) to make engagement sections (34) elastically deformable. When engaging a suspender (22) with the engagement sections (34), only the engagement sections (34) elastically deform outward, and as soon as the upper surfaces (22A) of the suspender (22) pass the tops of engagement claws (38) of the engagement sections (34), the engagement sections (34) are restored to the original position to retain the suspender (22) and the suspender (22) is engaged with the clip (16).
