The method involves capturing the images by the cameras (4,5) and examining the images by an authorized operator (B). Different hierarchical access rights are defined on the images for selected operators. The selected operator is logged on an authorization request unit (8), which allocates the hierarchical access rights. An independent claim is also included for a monitoring device, particularly video surveillance of rooms for execution of method.
