Electro-hydraulic actuator with spring energized accumulators

An electro-hydraulic actuator (100) with built-in fail safes is provided. Multiple accumulators (106) are integrated into the actuator (100) to improve reliability and redundancy. One or more accumulators (106) can fail and the remaining accumulators (106) provide sufficient energy to move the actuator (100) to its fail-safe condition. The accumulators (106) can incorporate spring-loaded pistons (100).
