The method comprises shredding wood in the wood fibers, shredding leather in the leather fibers, mixing the leather- and wood-fibers, adding the binding agent, homogenously mixing the binding agent with the leather- and wood-fibers and pressing the wood-leather-binding agent-mixture to form the composite body. The amount of wood is 10-90% and the amount of leather is 90-10%. The binding agent comprises two components. The step of pressing the wood-leather-binding agent-mixture is carried out at 150[deg] C. The moisture content of the wood and leather before the shredding is below 12%.
