PURPOSE: A capsulated colorant is provided to ensure excellent water resistance, light-proof property, abrasion resistance, optical density, and ink storage stability while realizing excellent reliability. CONSTITUTION: A capsulated colorant comprises a coloring agent and a polymer resin coating the coloring agent. The polymer resin is a polymerization resultant of a polymerizable composition including basic monomers, macro monomers and polymerizable unsaturated monomers. A method for preparing the capsulated colorant comprises the steps of: emulsifying a polymeric composition including a polymeric unsaturated monomer, basic monomer, macromer, aqueous medium, coloring agent, emulsifier and polymerization initiator; and polymerizing the monomers on the coloring agent to form a polymer resin coating the coloring agent. |
