<p>The molybdenite concentrate is leached at >=70 degrees C with an aqs. soln of >=10 wt.% of an alkali(ne earth) metal chloride esp. Na,K, Ca and Mg, and with at least one oxidising metal chloride. Specif. the oxidising chloride is ferric and/or cupric chloride used with CaCl2 at between 100 degrees C and the soln b.pt at atmos press. Applied to a concn contg. 0.5% each of Cu and Pb impurities, the process reduces their levels to industrially acceptable levels in ca 2 hrs with a leach soln at 110 degrees C.</p> |
