METHOD FOR PREPARING HIGH PURITY COPPER SULFATE PENTAHYDRATE CONTAINING A TRACE AMOUNT OF IMPURITY FROM WASTE COPPER ETCHANT

PURPOSE: A method for preparing high purity copper sulfate pentahydrate is provided to ensure excellent copper collection rate by preparing copper sulfate pentahydrate through intermediates with low content of heavy metals and induced chlorine. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing high purity copper sulfate pentahydrate from waste copper etchant comprises: a step of filtering the waste copper etchant to remove granular materials and passing through an anion exchange resin to remove heavy metals; a step of reacting the refined waste copper etchant with alkaline chemicals to prepare intermediates of high purity; a step of dehydrating the intermediate and washing it with deionized water; a step of neutralizing wastewater with waste copper etchant to collect copper hydroxide and re-dissolving the copper hydroxide in waste copper etchant to reduce chlorine components; a step of reacting the intermediates with sulfuric acid solutions to produce saturated copper sulfate pentahydrate; a copper sulfate pentahydrate crystallization step; and a dehydration step.
